This is the full feature version of the J42 Scanner Audio Player. For the limited feature version, you need to install J42 Scanner Audio Player Lite. For full control of your Uniden BCD536HP, you need two Java42 apps. The player app and the controller app. J42 Scanner Audio Player J42 Scanner Controller The player app contains services that play streaming audio from the Uniden model BCD536HP scanner. To control scanner functions, install J42 Scanner Controller or J42 Scanner Controller Lite. If you also have the controller installed, audio connections can be started or stopped by the controller app.Once connected to the scanner over a Wi-Fi connection, scanner audio will play through your device speaker. A persistent info message will be displayed in your devices notification area. The notification contains two options: TEST and STOP. TEST will play a short audio test message. STOP will end the audio connection.Audio quality is highly dependent on your network quality. A poor or marginal network will cause audio packets to be dropped and result in audio drop-out or audio-echo. Small audio packet losses will not be noticed but as audio packet loss increases audio quality decreases. Excessive audio packet loss will result in a broken connection and audio will stop. The audio is rendered in near-real-time with a 2 second delay buffer. The buffer is used for jitter correction and dropped audio packet correction.Audio will play until you or the scanner providing the stream terminates the connection. Audio will also terminate if there is an excessive amount of dropped UDP packets or if there is a network error.Full Version Player Features Audio will play while the player is in the background. Audio will play while the display is powered off.Lite Version Player Features Audio stops when the player is in the background. Audio stops while the display is powered off.
